تعتبر حرية الرأي و التعبير من ركائز و دعائم الديمقراطية، و لا يمكن احتكار هذه الحرية في نطاق أحادي للمؤسسات الإعلامية، لأن ذلك يمس بحق المواطن في الإعلام المتعدد على اعتبار أنه يؤدي إلى توجيه الرأي العام و الهيمنة عليه. لذلك حرصت مختلف التشريعات و قوانين الإعلام على تنظيم التعّددية الإعلامية ، بما لا يدع مجالا لإشاعة اللاأمن و تهديد السلام؛ هذا الأخير الذي تنشده جميع الأمم و تدعو إليه جميع الأديان لما يخلقه من محبة و ود و ألفة بين الأفراد. ذلك لأنه يحول دون نشوب صراعات قد تؤدي إلى التعصب للفكر والآراء.
من هنا جاءت دراستنا لتطرح الإشكالية التالية: ما الدور الذي يمكن للتعددية الإعلامية أن تلعبه في الحفاظ على السلام العالمي و ترقيته ؟ وما مدى تعايش التعددية الإعلامية مع السلام العالمي. هل هو طريق للوحدة أم سبيل للصراع ؟
و نجيب عن هذه الإشكالية من خلال محورين اثنين: نتناول في المحور الأول التعددية الإعلامية و السلم العالمي في إطار مفاهيمي، و في المحور الثاني نتطرق لمدى التناسق أو التنافر بين التعددية الإعلامية و استقرار السلام العالمي.

Freedom of opinion and expression is one of the pillars of democracy. This freedom cannot be monopolized by media institutions because it affects the right of the citizen in the mass media, as it leads to the direction of and domination over public opinion. Therefore, the various legislations and laws of the media often aim to regulate media pluralism, in a way that leaves no opportunity to any kind of threat to peace; the latter which is sought by all nations and advocated by all religions because it leads to love, affection and familiarity between individuals. Moreover, it prevents conflicts that may lead to intolerance of thought and opinion. Significantly, our study raises the following questions: What role can media pluralism play in maintaining and promoting world peace? To what extent can media pluralism coexist with world peace? Is this coexistence a road to unity or a path to conflict? We address this problematic through two sections: First, we deal with media pluralism and world peace in a conceptual framework. Secondly, we address the degree of consistency or inconsistency between the media pluralism and the stability of the international peace.
