Word and text recognition field have become an active field since many years. Many methods have been improved for several languages and used for printed or handwritten scripts and used two different ways of processing which are online and offline way. However, researches and studies for Arabic language are still few comparing with other languages due to several reasons. The nature of Arabic writing structure is differing to other languages may be the main reason. This paper presents and discusses an overview about some difficulties of recognizing Arabic text. These difficulties make challenges to researches in the recognition of Arabic text area to develop the proper techniques to overcome these problems.
