تناولت هذه الدراسة البحث في الفكر النحوي الذي ساد بين علماء القرن السادس الهجري (الثاني عشر الميلادي)، وبدأت بالتعرُّف على مفهوم الفكر النحوي ومستوياته، ثمَّ التعرُّض لمراحل نشأته، وثمَّ الحديث عن مراحل تطوُّر الفكر النحوي، والعوامل التي أثَّرت فيه.
تضمَّنت الدراسة أبرز العوامل التي أثرت في الفكر النحوي في القرن السادس الهجري، والتي تمثلت في الفقه ومذاهبه والعقيدة والفرق العقدية، وأثر الرحلات العلمية والتحولات السياسية في الفكر النحوي.
اشتملت الدراسة على ترجمة لأبرز علماء النحو واللغة خلال القرن السادس الهجري، حيث تمَّ تقسيمهم إلى قسمين أساسيين، بحسب البيئة الجغرافية وهما المشرق، والمغرب، ولوحظ من خلال هذا التقسيم أنَّ أغلب علماء البيئة الواحدة كانت لديهم اتجاهات نحوية مُتقاربة، ما أتاح للنحاة المعاصرين الفرصة لتقسيمهم على مدارس نحوية مختلفة.
سعت الدراسة إلى التعرُّف على اتجاهات نحاة القرن السادس الفكرية، من خلال إبراز آرائهم النحوية، ومقارنتها بمدى توافقها أو اعتراضها مع الآراء السابقة لها، أو المعاصرة، وتحديد الآراء النحوية الجديدة، التي تفرَّد بها بعض نحاة القرن السادس الهجري.

This study discusses the grammatical thought that prevailed among the sixth century scholars (the twelfth century A.D.) by studying the concept of grammatical thought and its levels, then discussing its stages of development, and the factors that influenced it.
The study included the most important factors that influenced the grammatical thought in the sixth century AH, which were represented in jurisprudence, doctrine, and the doctrinal difference, and the impact of scientific trips and political shifts in grammatical thought.
The study included biographies of the most prominent grammarians and language scholars who lived during the sixth century AH. They were divided into two main categories, according to the geographical environment, namely Al-Mashreq, and Al-Maghrib, where most grammarians of the same environment had similar grammar trends, which gave modern grammarian the opportunity to divide them into different grammar schools.
This study sought to identify the trends of the sixth century intellectual grammarians, by presenting their grammatical views, comparing their compatibility or opposition with previous or contemporary opinions, then identifying the new grammatical opinions, which were singled out by the grammarians of the sixth century AH.
