Simple and improved direct synthesis of some 2,4,5-triarylimidazole derivatives in the presence of sulfuric
acid via condensation of benzil/benzion, various aromatic aldehydes and ammonium acetate utilizing EtOH:H2O (1:1) as
solvent under ultrasonic conditions at room temperature. Significant features of present procedure are easy workup,
shorter reaction time, safer reaction condition, low-cost and high yield of products. In addition, this method is one of the
applications of ultrasound. The structure of all derivatives obtained from this work were proved using spectroscopic data
with melting points.
