شملت الدراسة الحالية اكتشاف طفيل التوكسوبلازما جوندي في القطط المنزلية في محافظة الديوانية باستخدام اختبار كاسيت سريع ودراسة التغيرات المرضية لبعض الأعضاء في القطط المصابة. تم جمع عشر قطط خلال الفترة 2012-2013. أخذت عينات من مصل القطط للاختبار مع اختبار كاسيت سريع. أشارت نتائج الاختبار إلى وجود ثلاث قطط مصابة بالطفيل بنسبة 30٪ ، اثنان منها يحتويان على جسم مضاد من نوع IgG بنسبة 66.66٪ ، بينما تحتوي العينة الثالثة من المصل على الأجسام المضادة IgG و IgM معاً بنسبة 33.34٪ ، وكانت النسبة الأعلى لوجود الأجسام المضادة في مصل القطط 66.66 ٪ من الأجسام المضادة IgG ، وأدنى 33.34 ٪ للأجسام المضادة IgG و IgM معا. تشير المقاطع النسجية للقطط المصابة بالطفيليات إلى وجود آفات في الكبد والدماغ والكلى. تميزت آفات الكبد بوجود احتقان في الأوعية الدموية وكذلك إخلاء خلايا الكبد ، مع تنكس دهني واضح ونخر ، ووجود خراجات أنسجة للطفيل. تميز المقطع العرضي للدماغ بوجود كيس من النسيج المتكلس مع ترشيح الخلايا النجمية والخلايا الدبقية الصغيرة. في أقسام الكلى كانت التغيرات المرضية هي وجود تكلس الكبيبات الكلوية وتمدد الأنابيب الكلوية الملتوية.

Abstract
The current study was involved the detection of Toxoplasma gondii parasite in domestic cats in AL-Diwanyah governorate using rapid cassette test and study the histopathological changes of some organs in infected cats. Ten cats were collected during the period 2012-2013. Serum samples were taken from cats for testing with rapid cassette test. Results of the test indicated the presence of three cats infected with the parasite in percentage of 30%, two sera of which contained on the antibody of the IgG type by 66.66% while the third serum sample contains the IgG and IgM antibodies together by 33.34%, and the higher percentage for the presence of antibodies in serum of cats were 66.66% of the IgG antibody, and the lowest was 33.34% to the IgG and IgM antibodies together. The histopathological sections of parasite infected cats indicate presence of lesions in liver, brain, and kidney. The liver lesions were characterized by the presence of vascular congestion as well as vacuolation of hepatocytes, with clear fatty degeneration and necrosis, and presence of tissue cysts of parasite. The cross section of brain were characterized by presence of calcified tissue cyst with filtration of astrocytes and microglia. In kidney sections the histopathological changes were presence of renal glomeruli calcification and dilation of renal convoluted tubules.
