Abstract
The author consists of lectures addressed to BA and MA students in Clinical Psychology, highlighting the effect of psychiatric drugs on the central nervous system and the most important drugs prescribed for the treatment of mental disorders, with an emphasis on professional ethics in this field and the role of the psychologist in caring for patients, taking into account drug treatment, if any. The book describes the most important mental disorders and the classification of psychotropic drugs to treat them. Finally, an account of addiction to psychiatric drugs is presented.
