Abstract
Weeds are considered as one
of the most important
agricultural pests and even the
most serious of all, They threat
at agricultural production by
reducing the economic
production outcome as well as
the marketing quality of
agricultural crops , Therefore, A
survey of weeds present in
Alghail Directorate , the study
area included (20) Farms in (5)
areas, the results were as
follows. 26 plants species
belonging to 17 plant Family
were surveyed, the most
presence was grassy family,
which included 4 species. The
weed Cynodon dactylon and
Cyperus rotundus was more
prevalent as it found in (19)
farms . While less prevalent
weeds were sheep Corchorus
depressus and Datura innoxia
which found in one farm only.
Farms differed in the number of
types of weeds present in them,
the most one of them was
found in farm Salif - Ben
Fregan - Naqaa area, which
contains 21 species. And the
least well-was Bafrag farm
which related to Naqaa area
contains 4 species.
