شهدت الحلة خلال المدة(1831-1869م) اهتمام السلطات العثمانية بها، إذ كانت الضرائب المستحصلة منها والناتجة من غزارة الإنتاج الزراعي الناجم من توفر المياه المتأتية من شط الحلة، قد مثلت نوعاً خاصاً من ذلك الاهتمام، الأمر الذي نجم عنه حدوث تأثيرات اجتماعية مهمة نتجت عن تأثر وتأثير سكان المدينة بالمناطق والأقاليم المحيطة بهم، ليستمر مع ذلك قيام المدينة بأداء دورها التجاري والاقتصادي الذي فرضه عليها موقعها الجغرافي المميز، إذ نلاحظ أن العلاقات التجارية (لاسيما مع مركز الولاية في بغداد) كان قد شهد تطورات كبيرة ساهمت في إعطاء المدينة عنوانها الاقتصادي المهم .
Abstract
Hilla had witnessed during the period (1831-1869AD) the interest from Ottoman authorities. The taxes got from Hilla which came from the abundance of agricultural product because of water available in Shatt- al- Hilla, represented a particular kind of that interest, as a result of that important social effects had happened caused by the influence and effect of town inhabitants by areas and regions surround them. However, the town continued its commercial and economical role that imposed by its distinct geographical site. We notice that commercial relations (especially with downtown in Baghdad) and witnessed great developments that contributed in giving the town its important economical address
