شهد العراق في أواخر القرن الثامن عشر وبداية القرن التاسع عشر الميلاديين تحولاً سياسياً خطيراً تمثل بظهور الحركة الوهابية- وتحولها من الطابع الديني إلى الطابع الديني السياسي وكان قد تزعم آل سعود قيادتها السياسية- وتهديدها للحكومة العثمانية في العراق، فكانت قوة معادية جديدة أثقلت كاهلها وأضافت لها عبئاً جديداً فوق الأعباء الخارجية والداخلية التي تعاني منها.من أهم ما تميز به المشهد السياسي في تلك المدة، الغزوات الوهابية المتكررة على المدن العراقية مثل كربلاء والنجف والحلة وغيرها من المدن العراقية، والتي كانت تشن كل سنة،ان الدعوة الوهابية لم تؤثر على المجتمع العراقي بسبب مخالفتها للمذاهب الإسلامية مما قدر لها أن تكون حركة غير مرغوب فيها هذا من جانب، وفرضها تحت وطأة السيف ، لاسيما إذا رافقها سلب ونهب وقتل وتشريد وانتهاك من جانب آخر
Abstract
Iraq has witnessed in the late eighteenth century and early nineteenth centuries shift serious political represents the emergence of the Wahhabi movement – and its transformation from a religious character to the religious character of the political and had claimed Al Saud political leadership-and its threat to the government Ottoman in Iraq, was hostile force new weighted burden and added her new burden on foreign and domestic burdens afflicting.That the most important thing has characterized the political scene in that period, repeated invasions on Iraqi cities like Karbala, Najaf ,Hilla and others ,and has been washing every year, The call did not affect the Wahhabi community because of violating the Iraqi Islamic doctrines, which estimated it to be unwanted movement this side, and imposed under the weight of the sword, especially if accompanied by Killing and displacement and violation by another
