إن الحج إلى مكة المكرمة إلزامي لجميع المؤمنين القادرين مادياً على أدائه ، باعتباره ركناً أساسياً من أركان الدين الإسلامي ، ولما كانت تلك المهمة صعبة وشاقة على الدوام وليس بمقدور الأفراد القيام بها ، لذلك ظهرت الحاجة إلى القوافل التي تنظم وصول الحجاج إلى بيت الله الحرام في مكة المكرمة بكل سهولة ويسر.وكانت تلك القوافل من الضخامة من حيث العدد والعدة ، وما يتخلل رحلة الحج من مخاطر ومصاعب ظهرت الحاجة في العصر العثماني إلى استحداث منصب ( أمير الحج) يأخذ على عاتقه تأمين طريق قافلة الحج من هجمات البدو ، وتأمين المؤن وكافة المستلزمات الأخرى لوصول قافلة الحج إلى بيت الله الحرام في الوقت المحدد لها.
Abstract
Pilgrimage to Mecca is obligatory for all Muslims who have enough money to do that. It is considered one of major branches of Islamic religion. Because of that task was always very hard and difficult and no one can do it. Therefore it appeared the need to trails to organize the arrival of those who do pilgrimage to Sacred House in Mecca easily and simply.Those trails were very huge in number and materials . it is obvious that during the pilgrimage, there were many risks and difficulties, so it appeared the need in Ottoman reign to form the prince of pilgrimage (Ameer Al- Haj) , taking on his responsibility to secure the road of pilgrimage caravans from nomads attacks and to secure the ration and all other requirements for arriving the privilege caravans to the Sacred House in exact time
