تهدف الدراسة الى مناقشة قيود الوقوع المشترك النحوية في اللغة الانكليزية التي تعرف بقوانين التصنيف الجزئي على وفق نظرية جومسكي ( 1965)ومقارنتها باللغة العربية لتبيان اوجه التشابة والاختلاف بينهما وربط ذلك بعملية الترجمة بين الانكليزية والعربية وتظهر النتائج انه بالرغم من التشابه الذي تشترك به اللغتان في هذا الجانب ثمة اوجه اختلاف بينهما ومن ابرزها ترجمة بعض حروف الجر المستخدمة مع الافعال كونها لا تحكم بقواعد معينة
Abstract
The study seeks to discuss the syntactic co-occurrence restrictions known in English as strict sub-categorization rules by Chomsky (1965) and compare their counterparts in Arabic with the aim of highlighting points of similarity and difference in terms of English-Arabic translation. The results show that despite similarities between the two languages in this respect ,there are some points of difference ,mostly in the translation of some prepositions used with verbs because they are not rule-governed.
