لمدينة عدن حضور في كتابات الرحالة العرب، أكان وصفًا أو انبهارًا أو تدقيقًا ودراسة، فلم تغب عدن عن كثير من الرحالة العرب ومن ضمنهم المقدسي، ففي كتابه أحسن التقاسيم في معرفة الأقاليم، نجد دراسة اثنوجرافية وافية عن المدينة تشمل: موقعها، ومناخها، ومساجدها، وأخلاق أهلها وذكر أسوارها وأبوابها، دراسة تحاذي بالمفهوم الحديث الدراسات الاثنوجرافية الحديثة التي تهدف إلى وصف عادات المجتمعات وثقافاتها، وهذا ما أنجزه المقدسي من خلال وصفه للمدينة .
Abstract
Aden city has a strong attendance in the writings of Arab's travellers, whether it was description , dazzliay, examination or study. Aden was not lost from many Arab's travellers writings such as AL-MAKDASY in his book (Ahsen Atakaseem Fi Marefaht Al Akhaleem ) which composed of ethnography study of Aden city including it's region , climate, mosque, the ethics of it's people and mention it's doors and walls . study which looks like to the modern concept ethnography studies aimed at describing the customs and culture of societies. That is what AL-MAKDASY has proved through his description of Aden.
