Abstract
What does it mean to use photographs as a diagnostic tool for disease features? How can a group of forty-eight pictures taken at the beginning of the twentieth century be considered a "valid measure" for diagnosing psychological characteristics? Can we really discover something deep in a person, just asking him to choose from forty-eight pictures and record the answers?
