Abstract
with the evolution of control identification systems, biometric systems have seen a huge breakthrough, developing better systems. In addition to the parameters describing the biometric systems relating to the acquisition factors (resolution, signal / noise ratio, contrast and illumination wavelength), the transmission factors must be added when uses a remote identification or storage system exploiting a big database. These latter factors are technically sensitive to the compression means. In this context, this work aims to exploit the most known compression techniques in the field and make a comparison applied to biometric images and especially images of the iris. To qualify these techniques, we use image evaluation factors with full reference and without reference.
