يناقش هذا البحث جملة من الأراء حول طبيعة اللغة المهرية، ويهدف إلى رصد الخطوط العامة لأهم ملامحها في الصوت والمفردة والتركيب، ويستعرض نماذج من حقولها الدلالية مقارنة مع العربية، محاولا الوقوف على إشكال دائر بين الدارسين حول اللغة المهرية: ألغة هي أم لهجة؟ والأقرب - من وجهة نظر الباحث - ومن خلال العديد من المفردات والدلالات - أنها لهجة للغة قديمة، أو لمزيج من لغات يمنية قديمة وللعربية الفصحى – أيضا- إذ إن معظم أصواتها والعديد من مفرداتها وتراكيبها وحقولها الدلالية لها صلة مباشرة أو غير مباشرة باللغة العربية الفصحى.
Abstract
This research discusses a number of opinions about the nature of the Mahri language, and aims to monitor the general lines of its most important features in phoneme, singular and composition, and reviews examples of its semantic fields compared to Arabic, trying to identify an ongoing problem among scholars about the Mahri language: is it a language or a dialect? The closest - from the researcher's point of view - and through many vocabulary and semantics - is that it is a dialect of an ancient language, or a mixture of ancient Yemeni languages and classical Arabic - as well - since most of its sounds, and many of its vocabulary, structures and semantic fields have a direct or indirect connection with Classical Arabic.
