حاولت دراستي في هذا الكتاب ـ مدن ألف ليلة وليلة ـــ المكان و الثقافة و المجتمع و الحضارة و العمران ـ أن تتبيّن الملامح الرئيسة لمدن ألف ليلة وليلة الواقعيّة، منطلقة من بنية نصوص الليالي، باعتبارها نصوصاً منفتحة على التاريخ والسياسة، والعلاقات بين الحاكم والمحكوم، في المدن العربيّة الإسلاميّة، وغير العربيّة، إلاّ أنّ هذه الدراسة لم تركّز على نصوص الليالي باعتبارها عملاً تخيّلياً صرفاً، بل تعدّها عملاً يمكن أن يكون معبّراً ـ في كثير من جوانبه ـ عن الواقع الحقيقيّ المعاش للطبقات الاجتماعيّة والسياسيّة في أزمنتها وأمكنتها، فاعتبار مدن ألف ليلة وليلة مدناً متخيّلة لن يساعدنا على فهم العلاقات القائمة، سياسيّاً واجتماعيّاً، بين سكان المدينة في ما بينهم من جهة، وبين السلطات القائمة فيها، وبين أفراد الشعب من جهة أخرى.
Abstract
My study in this book - Cities of the Thousand and One Nights - place, culture, society, civilization and urbanization - tried to show the main features of the realistic cities of the Thousand and One Nights, starting from the structure of the Nights texts, as texts open to history, politics, and the relations between the ruler and the ruled, in However, this study did not focus on the texts of the nights as a purely imaginary work, but rather considers them as a work that can express - in many aspects - the real reality lived for the social and political classes in their times and places, considering the cities of a thousand and one nights Imaginary cities will not help us to understand the existing relations, politically and socially, between the city's residents and among themselves on the one hand, and between the authorities in it, and among the people on the other.
