إن الاهتمام بالمعلم وإعداده وتأهيله يؤكد أن المعلم هو المحور الاساسى والرئيسي للعملية التعليمية ، فهو عصب العملية التربوية والذي يحتل مكان الصدارة في نجاح التربية وبلوغها غايتها وتحقيق دورها في التقدم الاجتماعي والاقتصادي وان الحاجة إلى إعداد المعلم حاجة قائمة باستمرار خصوصا في عصر التقدم المعرفي الهائل فالأمر يتطلب ضرورة أن يحافظ المعلم على مستوى متجدد من المعلومات والمهارات والاتجاهات الحديثة في طرائق التعليم وتقنياته وعليه فان عملية التعليم بالنسبة للمعلم عملية نمو مستمرة ومتواصلة.
