Abstract
Response of three varieties of sweet sorghum (Sorghum bicolor) namely: Hunny, Brandies and Prawel, to callus induction, embryogenic production, and in vitro salt tolerance were studied. In addition electrophoretic patterns of proteins and peroxidase isozyme patterns were studied to evaluate the response the obtaining calli of sweet sorghum to salt treatments with different concentrations of NaCl. The results obtained showed differential effect among the tested varieties. Brandies variety showed high response for callus induction, callus weight and salt tolerance comparing with other varieties. The present results might be useful in evaluative purposes in breeding program.
Abstract
تمت دراسة إستجابة ثلاث أنواع من الذره السكريه (Sorghum bicolor) (Hunny ، Brandies و Prawel) للكالس المستحدث وإنتاج الكالس الجنينى ومقاومة الملوحه معملياً . بالإضافه إلى ذلك تم تقييم إستجابة الكالس الناتج من مزارع الأنسجه للتركيزات المختلفه من كلوريد الصوديوم ، وذلك بإستخدام التفريد الكهربى للبروتينات وإنزيم البيروكسيديز . النتائج المتحصل عليها أظهرت إستجابات مختلفه للأنواع المختبره وأن النوع Brandies أظهر أعلى إستجابه لإنتاج ووزن الكالس فى وجود التركيزات العاليه من كلوريد الصوديوم ، هذه النتائج قد تكون مفيده لأغراض التقييم فى برامج التربيه .
الخلاصة:
تنوعت إستجابة ثلاثة أنواع من الذره السكريه (Hunny ، Brandies و Prawel) لمزارع الأنسجه وتكوين الكالس الجنينى وكذلك فى مقاومة الملوحه . النوع Brandies كان أعلى إستجابة لإنتاج ووزن الكالس وتحمل الملوحه مما يجعله من الأنواع التى يُنصح بإستخدامه فى برامج التربيه للتوسع فى زراعته فى المناطق الأكثر ملوحه .
