كانت عملية نقل الأخبار والمكالمات والرسائل تجري بصعوبة بالغة خلال العهد العثماني، وكان العراق في هذا العهد مبعثر الأطراف والساكن في شرقه لا يعرف ما يجري في غربه، وشماله منقطع عن جنوبه، وبعد هزيمة الدولة العثمانية في أعقاب الحرب العالمية الأولى، واحتلال بريطانيا للعراق، ومن ثم تشكيل الحكومة العراقية ظهرت فكرة تأسيس إدارة البريد والبرق ومدّ خطوط الهاتف والبرقية وتأسيس مراكز هاتفية في المدن العراقية كافة، من اجل حماية امن ومصالح بريطانيا بالدرجة الأولى، ورفاهية الشعب العراقي ثانيا، وسوف نحاول تسليط الضوء في بحثنا على خدمات البريد والبرق والهاتف والإذاعة ودورها في تحريك الوعي الوطني والقومي بين ابناء الشعب العراقي .
Abstract
