المخدرات هي مجموعة من المواد التي تسبب الإدمان وتسمم الجهاز العصبي، ويطلق لفظ (مخدر) على ما يُذهب العقل ويغيبه، لاحتوائه على مواد كيميائية تؤدي إلى النعاس والنوم أو غياب الوعي.
قد يؤدي استخدام المخدرات إلى ما يسمى (متلازمة التبعية)، وهي مجموعة من الظواهر السلوكية والمعرفية والفسيولوجية التي تتطور بعد الاستخدام المتكرر للمواد، وتتضمن عادة رغبة قوية في الاستمرار بذلك على الرغم من العواقب الضارة، حتى يصل إلى مرحلة الاعتماد عليها وظهور أعراض انسحابية.
معنى الإدمان:
هو رغبة قهرية للاستمرار في تعاطي المادة المخدرة أو الحصول عليها بأي وسيلة، مع الميل إلى زيادة الجرعة المتعاطاة؛ مما يسبب اعتمادًا نفسيًّا وجسميًّا وتأثيرًا ضارًا في الفرد والمجتمع
Abstract
Drugs are a group of substances that cause addiction and poison the nervous system. The word (narcotic) is used to denote what makes the mind lose its mind, because it contains chemicals that lead to drowsiness, sleep, or absence of consciousness.
The use of drugs may lead to the so-called (dependency syndrome), which is a group of behavioral, cognitive and physiological phenomena that develop after repeated use of substances, and usually includes a strong desire to continue doing so despite the harmful consequences, until it reaches the stage of dependence on it and the emergence of withdrawal symptoms.
Meaning of addiction:
It is a compulsive desire to continue using the drug or obtaining it by any means, with a tendency to increase the dose used; Which causes psychological and physical dependence and a harmful effect on the individual and society
