تُعرَّف الدراسة عن بعد بأنَّها وسيلة من وسائل التعليم التي بدأت تشهد تطوّرًا ملحوظًا في السنوات الأخيرة. ومع تطوّر التكنولوجيا وتقنيات التواصل، وتحوّل العالم إلى قرية صغيرة، بدأت الكثير من الجامعات حول العالم بإدخال تقنيات التعليم عن بعد إليها؛ لتواكب التَّقدّم الذي يشهده العالم.

Distance learning is defined as a method of education that has begun to witness significant development in recent years. With the development of technology and communication techniques, and the world turning into a small village, many universities around the world began introducing distance education techniques to them. To keep pace with the progress the world is witnessing.
