يتناول هذا المقال بالشرح والتحليل مشروعات (أو محاولات) السيطرة الغربية على العالم الإسلامي عبر القرون. ومن خلال منهج وصفي تاريخي يستعرض نماذج من تلك المشروعات/الأدوات. ويشمل ذلك الاستشراق، والحروب الصليبية، والاستعمار والعلمانية. ويرى أن الدراسات الاستشراقية هي التي مهدت للإستعمار بعد فشلت الحروب الصليبية في القضاء على الإسلام كحضارة عالميةغزت العقل الأوروبي وهددت الحضارة الغربية في قيمها وثقافتها – تهديد وجودي. وتناول المقال التحديات المعاصرة التي تواجه العالم الإسلامي وموجات العداء الغربي التي تحاول تشويه صورة الإسلام لدى الرأي العام العالمي، ونقل الصورة المشوهة إلى بلاد المسلمين أنفسهم وزرع الفتن والصراعات الداخلية. وقد استخدم الغرب في ذلك تلامذة المستشرقين في داخل الدول العربية والإسلامية كما ترك الإستعمار الغربي مؤسسات تواصل في مشروعات السيطرة وتشويه الإسلام. كما تناول المقال تأثير العولمة في العصر الراهن على الهوية الإسلامية واقترح كيفية التعامل مع مخاطر العولمة لحماية الهوية الإسلامية.
Abstract
This article tries to explain the Western projects (or attempts) to conquer and control the Muslim world over centuries. By using a historical and descriptive approach the article reviews some examples of those projects. These examples include: orientalism, the crusade, colonialism and secularism. The article explains that orientalist studies paved the way for colonialism after the failure of the crusade war to ward off the spread of Islam in Europe or block the flow of the Islamic civilization as a universal civilization. The article reviews the contemporary challenges facing the Muslim world and the sporadic waves of anti-Islamic antagonisms. It notes that the Western rhetoric and media are exerting enormous efforts to distort the image of Islam. Among the tools the West also tries to sow the seeds of sedition among the Muslim communities as well as triggering conflicts among Muslim groups – notably the doctrines (e.g. Sunni vs. Shiite). The article also addresses the threat posed by globalization to the Islamic identity. It suggests some means to counter this menace.
