تهدف الدراسة إلى إبراز دور الأكاديميين السودانيين وإسهامهم في معرفتنا بتاريخ السودان القديم، وعرض ما كتبوه بغية الوصول إلى ما لم يُكْتَب. وتتمثل مشكلة البحث في تحديد من هم المختصين السودانيين في تاريخ السودان القديم وما هي مؤلفاتهم العلمية وهل غطت هذه المؤلفات كل موضوعات تلك الفترة؟ اتبع الباحث منهج البحث التاريخي والمنهج الوصفي للوصول إلى النتائج. وتمثلت النتائج في أن الذين كتبوا تاريخ السودان هم ليسو من المختصين في مجال التاريخ القديم ، بل هنالك باحثون في مجالات أخرى كتبوا فأجادوا. وقد أدى تناول بحثهم وتقديم عرض عن الموضوعات المتشابهة من زوايا مختلفة إلى فهم هذه الموضوعات، كما أن الإسهامات التي قدمها هؤلاء الكتاب تعتبر حجر الزاوية للكتابات التي جاءت بعدهم.
Abstract
The study aims to highlight the role of Sudanese scholar and their contribution to our knowledge of the ancient history of Sudan, and to present what they wrote in order to reach to what was not written. The problem of the research is to identify who are the Sudanese specialists in the ancient history of Sudan, what are their scientific works, and did these works cover all the topics of that period? The researcher followed the historical research approach and the descriptive approach to reach the results. The results were that those who wrote on history of Sudan are not specialists in the field of ancient history, but there are researchers from fields who wrote and excelled. Addressing their research and presenting similar topics from different angles led to an understanding of these topics, and the contributions made by these writers are considered the cornerstone of the writings that came after them.:
