يتمحور هذا البحث حول القيم الإنسانة وأثرها في التغلب على الكوارث الطبيعية، وتتجلى أهميته في إثارته قضية إنسانية، قد يتعرض لها كل المجتمعات البشرية، مما يجعلها قضية إنسانية عالمية، ويثير تساؤلات إشكالية حقيقية، حول دور القيم الإنسانية في التقليل من أثر الكوارث الطبيعية، وحول علاقة القيم بباقي الحلول الأخرى للحد من آثر الكوارث الطبيعية.
وافترض الباحث، أن التفاعل مع الكوارث الطبيعية لا علاقة له بالقيم الإنسانية!، في المقابل يرى أن هناك فرضية أخرى تعتبر أن للقيم دوراً كبيرً في تحريك وإحياء الروح الإنسانية، باعتبارها تدفع إلى التفاعل مع القضايا الإنسانية في كل مكان! كما يرى، أنه لا يمكن الفصل بين القيم الإنسانية التفاعلية، والحلول الأخرى للحد من أثر الكوارث؛ لأنها هي بدورها قد تكون نابعة عن قيمة من القيم.
واعتبر أن إبراز دور القيم في تفعيل الروح الإنسانية، وتحقيق مجتمع الجسد الواحد كما في الحديث الشريف، وإبراز دورها في التخفيف من آثار الكوارث الطبيعية، وتجديد الوعي المجتمعي بأهمية التكافل الاجتماعين من أهم أهداف هذا البحث.
ومن النتائج التي خلص إليها الباحث، أن الكوارث الطبيعة لها جوانب إيجابية، وذلك من خلال العودة بالفطرة الإنسانية إلى طبيعتها الخيرية، وإحيائها للروح الإنسانية، وأن الكوارث الطبيعية، تجمع ولا تفرق، وتبرز القوة التي تكمن في الجماعة، كيف لا والرسول ﷺ، يقول في حديث عظيم: ((يد الله مع الجماعة))، وقوله: ((والله في عون العبد ما كان العبد في عون أخير))، وأن القيم الإنسانية التفاعلية لها أثر حقيقي ملموس في التخفيف من آثار الكوارث الطبيعية.
