تكمن أهميّة الدراسة في ضرورة البحث عن حلول جادّة لمشكلة البطالة في قطاع غزّة، لما لهذه المشكلة من آثار اقتصاديّة واجتماعيّة، تلقي بظلالها على كافّة شرائح المجتمع في قطاع غزة.
هدفت الدراسة إلى التّعرف على الآفاق الممكنة أمام القطاع الخاص في توليد فرص عمل دائمة ومناسبة، وحلّ مشكلة البطالة في قطاع غزّة.
تطرّقت الدراسة إلى خصائص البطالة في قطاع غزّة وأسبابها، كما تناولت بالتّحليل أهميّة القطاع الخاص بالنسبة للاقتصاد الغزّي، من حيث مساهمته في الناتج والتشغيل، والآفاق الممكنة لتنشيط طلب القطاع الخاص على العمالة في قطاع غزّة.
استخدم الباحثان في التّحليل، المنهج الوصفي التحليلي في تحليل ظواهر البحث ومتغيراته.
توصّلت الدراسة إلى أنّ القيود الداخليّة والخارجيّة المفروضة على القطاع الخاص، والخسائر الفادحة الّتي تكبّدتها مؤسّسات ومنشآت القطاع الخاص، حدّت من قدرته على استيعاب فائض العمالة في قطاع غزّة.
أوصت الدراسة بضرورة تدخل الحكومة الفلسطينيّة بشكل قوي وفعّال، لتعزيز دور القطاع الخاص كفاعل هام وأساسي في عمليّة التشغيل، والعمل على ربط الجهد الإغاثي بالنشاط التنموي، وضرورة العمل على توفير البيئة الاستثماريّة الملائمة والمحفّزة، والجاذبة للاستثمارات المحلّيّة والأجنبيّة.

The significance of this study stems out from the need to search for serious solutions to the unemployment problem in Gaza Strip, due to its economic and social impacts, which cast a shadow on all ranks of the Gazan society.
The study aimed to identify possible prospects for the private sector in generating permanent and suitable job opportunities, and solv the problem of unemployment in Gaza Strip.
It also hinted to the characteristics of unemployment and its causes. It analyzed the significance of the private sector for Gaza economy, in terms of its contribution to GDP and employment, and possible prospects to enhance private sector demand for labor in Gaza Strip.
In this study, the researchers followed the descriptive and analytical approach to analyze the phenomena and variables of study.
The study concluded that internal and external constraints on the private sector, and the heavy losses incurred by institutions and private sector enterprises, have limited its ability to take in more labor in the Gaza Strip.
The study recommended the Palestinian government intervention, to strengthen the role of the private sector as an essential and significant factor in Providing job opportunities, and to connect between relief effort and development activity, and to stimulate suitable investment environment, and to attract domestic and foreign investment.
