تسلط هذه الورقة الضوء على البيئة المؤسسية الخارجية للبنوك التجارية الليبية ، كقيود مؤسسية على تبني المعاملات المالية الإسلامية، و في هذا السياق ، تبحث المقالة في البيئة المؤسسية الخارجية للبنوك التجارية الليبية التي تحكم سلوكها وقراراتها. ولتحقيق هذه الغاية استعان الباحثين بتقارير البنك المركزي الليبي وتقارير محلية ودوليةوأجراء مقابلات شبة منظمة .أخيراً الورقة تستعرض الآثار المترتبة على التحقيق في البيئة المؤسسية الخارجية للبنوك التجارية الليبية. كما أنها أستعراض نتائج الدراسات التي أجريت على البنوك التجارية الليبية،لتسلط الضوء على فجوة البحث كدراسة مستقبلية التي يمكن أن تفتح آفاقًا جديدة لبحث تأثير البيئة الخارجية على اعتماد البنوك التجارية للمعاملات المالية الإسلامية. على وجه التحديد ، لتوفير إطار يتضمن تأثير جميع الجهات الفاعلة الرئيسية التي تحدد علانية السلوك التنظيمي للبنوك التجارية بدلاً من تأثير مستخدمي البنك فقط.

This paper highlights the Libyan commercial banks’ institutional environment, as institutional constraints on their adoption of Islamic financial transactions. Principally, in the context of formal and informal constraints, the article investigates Libyan commercial banks' external institutional environment that governs their behaviour and decisions. To achieve this end, the authors employed reports of the Libyan Central Bank, local, international reports, and the semi-structured interviews. Finally, it reviews the implications to investigate the institutional environment and the study result conducted about Libyan commercial banks. For highlighting the research gap as a future study opens up new horizons to research the effect of external environment on the commercial banks ' adoption of Islamic financial transactions. Specifically, providing a frame that includes the influence of all main actors that openly determine the commercial banks' organizational behaviour rather than only influence of bank's users.
