يحاول مقالي هذا أن يدرس أهم مظاهر أسطورة شهريار وشهرزادــ وهما أهم شخصيتين أسطوريتين تركّز السرد الحكائي في ألف ليلة وليلة حولهما ــــ يدرسهما في الخطاب الشعري العربي المعاصر، و كيفية توظيفهما، وتحديدا عند أهم شعراء الحداثة العربية المعاصرة، وهو الشاعر العراقي عبد الوهاب البياتي، أكثر الشعراء العرب إفادة من التراث الأسطوري والحكائي والتاريخي، و قدرة على تمثّل هذا التراث و مرجعياته، ودورها و إحالاتها الرمزيّة سياسيا واجتماعيا وتاريخيا في بنية خطابه الشعري.

This article attempts to study the most important manifestations of the legend of Shahryar and Scheherazade - the two most important legendary figures around whom the narrative in the Thousand and One Nights focuses - in contemporary Arab poetic discourse, and how to employ them, specifically among the most important poets of contemporary Arab modernity, who is the Iraqi poet Abd al-Wahhab al-Bayati, more Arab poets benefit from the mythological, narrative and historical heritage, and the ability to represent this heritage and its references, and their role and symbolic references politically, socially and historically in the structure of his poetic discourse.
