اهتمت اللسانيات الغربية بنظرية المناسبة منذ ظهورها عام 1986، وبالنظر في مجلة التداوليات نجد استمرار هذا الاهتمام. وسبب ذلك أن نظرية المناسبة تستفيد من علم النفس المعرفي التطوري، وعلم الأعصاب، والذكاء الاصطناعي، ونظرية جرايس. وتسعى هذه الدراسة إلى بيان موقع نظرية المناسبة في ساحة التداوليات.

Western linguistics has been concerned with the theory of relevance since its appearance in 1986, and by looking at “Pragmatics Journal”, we find the continuation of this interest. The reason for this is that appropriateness theory makes use of evolutionary cognitive psychology, neuroscience, artificial intelligence, and Grice's theory. This study seeks to show the location of the theory of relevance in the arena of deliberations.
