الملخص الانجليزي
This study aimed to investigate the phytochemical components of Ficus carica (leaves) using Gas
chromatography- Mass spectrum (GC-MS) and Fourier transform infrared spectrophotometer
(FTIR) techniques. The results of GC-MS reported 55 chemical compounds in leaves. The results of
the FTIR appear the presence of 30 functional groups in this plant. More of these groups were
alcohols, phenols, alkanes, alkyl halides, aldehydes, carboxylic acids, aromatics, nitro compounds
and amines. It contain phytochemicals which may be useful for various herbal formulation as antiinflamatory, anti-bacterial, anti-fungal Anticancer, Antioxidant and others.
