Information literacy to Researchers in the field of Medical Sciences using Big6 model

The present study aims at identifying scholars’ use, in the medical fields, of sample (Big 6) in solving information problems. It also shows to what extreme researchers make use of these information, measure their attitudes, develop their information culture by investigating information use, strategies of information search, availability of searching sources either printed or electronic, in addition to information analysis and their use efficiently as a type of critical thinking, and skills of collecting data. Besides Information assessment skill to verify accuracy of the information they adopt in their research. The preset study is conducted on a sample of (108) researcher from the faculties of medical sciences (Faculty of Medicine, Pharmacy, Nursing, Oral Dental and Physiotherapy). The study approved that those researchers or scholars of medical sciences at Beni-Suef University have a considerable number of information culture skills. They are able to document and cite all the references and sources they use. Skills of setting research strategies are represented in trace references of the electronic sources for accessing information sources and how can researchers research for their own information by using linking techniques among terminologies and finally reading the sources . The study sheds light also on ways of sources documentation like Harvard style, MLA style, APA style, and Chicago style.
