هدفت الدراسة إلى التعرف إلى الأطر النظرية للترجمة الآلية من حيث (المفهوم، النشأة، الأهمية، الأهداف، والخصائص)، وتشخيص العلاقة بين الترجمة الآلية ومجتمع المعرفة، وتوضيح دور الترجمة الآلية في وظائف الجامعات: (البحث العلمي، التدريس، خدمة المجتمع)، وتحديد أبرز أدوات ووسائل الترجمة الآلية. وتم استخدام المنهج الاستنتاجي للدراسات السابقة والأدب النظري المتعلق بموضوع الدراسة. وتوصلت الدراسة إلى جملة من الاستنتاجات، لعل أبرزها: أن الترجمة الآلية ترتبط بخصائص مجتمع المعرفة ارتباطاً كليا؛ً يتمثل في القدرة على استخدام وتوظيف التكنولوجيات الرقمية والإنترنت ووسائل الاتصال في فهم وإنتاج ونشر ونقل المعارف والدراسات وآخر المستجدات العلمية إلى اللغة العربية. علاوة على ذلك؛ أصبحت الترجمة الآلية إحدى الأدوات التكنولوجية التي تُساعد الجامعات العربية في إنتاج وتوظيف واستخدام ونشر آخر المعارف الجديدة عبر الوظائف المختلفة: (البحث العلمي، التدريس، وخدمة المجتمع).
الملخص الانجليزي
This study aimed at identifying the theoretical frameworks of machine translation in terms of (concept, origin, importance, objectives and characteristics), identifying relationship between machine translation and the knowledge society, and clarifying the role of machine translation in university functions (scientific research, teaching, society service); in addition to identifying the most important tools and means of machine translation. The deductive method was used for previous studies and theoretical literature on study subject. The study has concluded with a number of conclusions, most notably, machine translation is linked to the characteristics of knowledge society, which is entirely related to the ability to use and employ digital technologies, internet and means of communication to understand, produce, disseminate and transfer knowledge, studies and latest scientific developments into Arabic. In addition, machine translation has become one of the technological tools that assist Arab universities in producing, employing, and disseminating the latest knowledge in various university functions (scientific research, teaching, and community service).
