هدف البحث الى التعرف عن مدى معرفة معلمي المرحلة الابتدائية بواقع تعليم التلاميذ بطيئ التعلم، وكذا معرفتهم بالفرق بينهم وبين صعوبات التعلم، وماهي الخدمات المقدمة لهم، ومدى ملائمة المناهج الدراسية لهم، ولتحقيق هذه الغاية صممت الباحثتان استبيان لقياس هذه المعرفة، وخلصت المعالجة الإحصائية لدرجاتهم إلى أن معرفة المعلمين بواقع تعليم التلاميذ بطئي التعلم والخدمات المقدمة لهم وملائمة المناهج الدراسية معرفة ضعيفة. بينما معرفتهم بالفرق بينهم وبين صعوبات التعلم والتأخر الدراسي فهي معرفة متوسطة. من ناحية أخرى لم تسفر المعاجلة الإحصائية عن وجود اي اختلاف في هذه المعرفة راجع لمتغيرات المؤهل العلمي، عدد سنوات الخبرة.

The aim of the research is to know the extent of primary school teachers ’knowledge of the reality of educating slow-learning pupils, as well as their knowledge of the difference between them and learning difficulties, what services are provided to them, and the suitability of the curriculum for them, and to achieve this goal the two researchers designed a questionnaire to measure this knowledge, and the statistical treatment of their grades concluded to Teachers ’knowledge of the reality of educating students with slow learning, the services provided to them, and the relevance of the curriculum is poor. While their knowledge of the difference between them and learning difficulties and academic delay, it is an average knowledge. On the other hand, the statistical treatment did not result in any difference in this knowledge due to the variables of scientific qualification, number of years of experience.
