تبحث هذه الدراسة في طبيعة التغطية الإخبارية للحركات الاحتجاجية التي شهدها العراق في صحيفتين من الصحف العراقية هما الصباح التي تمثل الصحف الحكومية الرسمية الصادرة من شبكة الاعلام العراقي، والمدى التي تمثل الصحف المستقلة على وفق ما تدل عليها ترويستها، وقد حاولت الدراسة الاجابة عن عدد من التساؤلات أبرزها: ما الأطر التي حددت التغطية الإخبارية للحركات الاحتجاجية في الصحف العراقية متمثلة بصحيفتي الدراسة (الصباح والمدى)؟
وقد اتبعت الدراسة خطوات المنهج المسحي بشقيه الوصفي والتحليلي مستخدمة طريقة تحليل المضمون بإطاريها (ماذا قيل وكيف قيل)، فضلاً عن أستخدام أسلوب الحصر الشامل للموضوعات والمضامين الخاصة بالحركات الاحتجاجية خلال المدة التي خضعت للتحليل.
وتوصلت الدراسة الى ان حجم التغطية الإخبارية للحركات الاحتجاجية في صحيفة المدى كان أوسع واعلى من حجم التغطية الإخبارية في صحيفة الصباح اذ كانت الصفحة الأولى لصحيفة المدى مكرسة في اغلبها لأخبار الاحتجاجات بينما اكتفت الصفحة الاولى بصحيفة الصباح بأخبار محددة عن الحركات الاحتجاجية، وتسليط الضوء على اخبار تخص موضوعات أخرى، فضلا عن ان عدد المصادر الإخبارية المعتمدة في صحيفة المدى أكثر من عدد المصادر المعتمدة في صحيفة الصباح؛ مما يؤشر الى ان الصحيفتين كانتا متفقين على الاعتماد على المصادر الداخلية بنسبة عالية اكثر من اعتمادهما على المصادر الخارجية، فضلاً عن ان الفنون الصحفية في صحيفة المدى أكثر من الفنون الصحفية في صحيفة الصباح.

This study examines the nature of the news coverage of the protest movements that Iraq witnessed in two Iraqi newspapers: Al-Sabah, which represents the official government newspapers issued by the Iraqi Media Network, and the extent to which they represent independent newspapers, according to what is indicated in their header. The study attempted to answer a number of questions. Most notably: What are the frameworks that determined the news coverage of the protest movements in the Iraqi newspapers, represented by the two newspapers Al-Darassa (Al-Sabah and Al-Mada)?
The study followed the steps of the survey method, both descriptive and analytical, using the method of content analysis in its two frameworks, what was said and how it was said, in addition to using the method of comprehensive inventory of the topics and contents of the protest movements during the period that was subject to analysis.
The study concluded that the volume of news coverage of the protest movements in Al-Mada newspaper was wider and higher than the volume of news coverage in Al-Sabah newspaper, as the front page of Al-Mada newspaper was mostly devoted to news of the protests, while the front page of Al-Sabah newspaper was satisfied with specific news about the protest movements and shed light on news related to topics In addition, the number of approved news sources in Al-Mada newspaper is more than the number of approved sources in Al-Sabah newspaper, which indicates that the two newspapers were in agreement to rely on internal sources at a higher rate than on external sources, in addition to the fact that the journalistic arts in Al-Mada newspaper are more than Press Arts in the morning newspaper.
