Abstract
Results of isolation and diagnosis showed that the Freesia plants infected with wilt and bulbs rot showed the presences of Fusarium oxysporium as a potential pathogen. And the results of test showed pathogenicity of the fungus to cause wilt and rotting Freesia bulbs. and this is the first record on the Freesia in Iraq. Biological control agents(Trichoderma viride , T. harzianum , Bacillus subtilis , Pseudomonas fluorescens ). were evaluated against the pathogen in dual culture , the results of the test showed that T. harzianum inhibited maximum mycelial growth of the pathogen and inhibition of fungal growth reached 95.65%. . Through the results of control of the disease using same bio-control agent , T. harzianum were the best in reducing the disease severity on vegetative and corm 0.07 and 0.03 respectively, compared with 0.38 and 0.32 in the control treatment inoculated with fungus and did not differ significantly from T. viride and B. subtilis .
