تعد استطلاعات الرأي العام من أساليب دراسة الجمهور في وقتنا المعاصر، خاصة بعد شيوع مفهوم الديمقراطية التشاركية من جهة ولإدراك صانعي القرار بأهمية إشراك الشعب في صنع القرارات والسياسات العامة للدولة من جهة أخرى، ولذلك كان لزاما معرفة رأيه في مختلف القضايا التي تهمه وتحيط به في مجتمعه، لكن التاريخ يشهد أن الاستطلاعات لم تكن دائما ناجحة في رصد الاتجاهات الحقيقية للجمهور، ما جعل المهتمين يشككون في مصداقيتها.
Abstract
Sounding public opinion is a method of studying the public nowadays. Especially after the widespread concept of participatory democracy on the one hand and the decision-makers' awareness of the importance of involving the people in the decision-making and general policies of the State on the other hand. It was therefore necessary to know the publics’ opinion on the various issues that concern them in the community. But history prooves that Sounding public opinions have not always been successful in monitoring the real trends of the public, raising skeptic questions about their credibility.
